An Introduction to Gungahlin College
Gungahlin College offers an educational experience for students, designed to inspire individual achievement and confidence for life.
Our model of student pastoral care and wellbeing is centred around a House model, working together with faculty teachers and specialist staff. We provide a wide range of universal, selected and targeted support strategies, based on each student's needs.
Student Support Hub
Our newly created Student Support Hub brings together a wide range of services designed to support students during their time at Gungahlin College.
Gungahlin College is committed to ensuring the educational and wellbeing needs of all students are met.
Vocational courses provide competency based training that is workplace relevant and develops skills that enhance training and employment opportunities beyond college. Students work towards the completion of specific competencies that will allow them to receive a nationally recognised qualification.
Year 10 SMART Program
The SMART selective program is open to all students in the ACT. It is designed for students who show interest and aptitude or potential in Science, Mathematics and Related Technologies and who are prepared and keen to develop effective and responsible learning skills in preparation for Years 11 and 12, post-secondary studies and other post-school options.
Arts at Gungahlin College
Arts programs include Ceramics, Dance, Drama, Fashion, Media, Music, Photography, Visual Arts, as well as Industry skills programs in Musical and Stage Performance and Live Production Services. Arts studios and classrooms are fully equipped with high-quality technology and resources, including a fully operational theatre. Students can study Arts courses in T, A, M or C streams, with minors to double-majors offered within each course area. Find out more about the Arts Curriculum.
Sports Development Program
The Sports Development Program is offered to students who compete in their chosen sport at an elite or high level. The course is designed to prepare students for both academic and sporting success and focusses on fitness, sports specific skills and the demands of high level sport.
