College Wi-Fi


Below are the instructions on how to connect your device to the college Wi-Fi. If you have any trouble with this or any other IT issues, feel free to visit the IT Officers at the top of Orange hubs (H1.32) who will be happy to help you.

Please note: the College cannot provide support with personal devices beyond School Network Account and WiFi issues (school issued Chomebooks are supported).


iOS Devices

  1. Tap 'Settings'
  2. Tap 'Wi-Fi', then tap 'EDU'
  3. Enter your own username and password, then tap 'Join'
  4. Tap 'Accept'
  5. Tap the blue 'i' icon on the EDU network
  6. Scroll down to the HTTP Proxy section and tap 'Auto'

Additional steps if connecting with iOS 5 or earlier:


Android devices

  1. Tap 'Settings'
  2. Tap 'Wi-Fi'
  3. Tap 'EDU'
  4. Fill out the settings as shown below:

Tick 'Show Advanced Options' and fill in the following:


Windows Devices

  1. Open the charms bar on the right hand side of the screen and click 'Settings'.
  2. Tap 'Network'.
  3. From the networks menu, select the 'EDU' network.
  4. Make sure Connect Automatically is checked, then tap 'Connect'.
  5. Enter your SchoolsNet username and password and tap 'OK'.

Your device has now been set up. Test the connection is working by launching your web browser or one of your Internet-connected applications.


Apple Computers

  1. Click on the Wifi icon on your title bar and select the EDU network.
  2. Enter your SchoolsNet username and password into the dialog box. Make sure remember this network is checked and click the 'Join' button.
  3. If you have not connected to the EDU wireless network before, you may be asked to accept the secure.ed.act.edu.au, UTN-User or USERTrust certificate. If prompted to do so, Accept it. You may need to enter your administrator's username and password (the one you log onto your computer with).
  4. You now need to set up your proxy setting. From the Network pane in the System Preferences window, click 'Advanced' then select the 'Proxies' tab. Choose Automatic Proxy Configuration and enter the following URL into the URL field: http://proxy.educ/proxy.pac Then, click 'OK'. Then click 'Apply' and close the system preferences

Your device has now been set up. Test the connection is working by launching your web browser or one of your Internet-connected applications.
