About this course
Physical Education Studies helps students build skills and knowledge in, through and about physical activity. Students work on individual and team performance, explore lifelong physical activity, and learn how sport connects to culture and society. Assessment usually includes practical performance tasks, performance analysis, and plans for improvement.

Units in this course
Students complete 2 units for a Minor or 4 units for a Major.
Improving Individual Performance
This unit is about improving skills and performance in individual sports and activities.
Students will:
- practise and refine skills through training and instruction
- analyse performance using observations and data, then create a plan to improve
Promoting Active Lifestyles
This unit is about staying active for life and understanding what helps (and what gets in the way).
Students will:
- explore opportunities and barriers to being active across different ages and settings
- plan ways to support inclusion, wellbeing and lifelong participation
Improving Team Performance
This unit is about improving team performance through tactics, communication and team culture.
Students will:
- explore strategies, tactics and communication methods used in team sports
- analyse team performance and create plans to improve teamwork and results
Sport, Culture and Society
This unit is about how sport connects to culture, identity and society, including ethical issues.
Students will:
- explore sports and physical activities from different cultures and places
- investigate issues in sport (such as fairness, inclusion and media influence) and propose solutions
